Some days ask us to show up for things we’d rather not; duties, errands, energy exchanges that feel more like tugs than invitations.

But just because something must be done doesn’t mean you must be wide open while doing it.

You can tend to what’s necessary without betraying yourself.
You can honor the task without offering every drop of your essence.

Do the thing today, but don’t disappear inside it.
And remember: you don’t owe anyone your constant availability, especially on the days when your spirit needs space to breathe.
